As we all are stuck in one place, no outdoor activities, no outings, no get together, no party, our life becomes dull and boring. This is all because of COVID-19. We all are following the same routine like sleeping, eating, work from home, etc. There comes a time when we need a break from life and want to go somewhere to refresh ourselves. So I decided to make a plan and explore Manali in December 2020. Me and my office colleagues book a tempo traveler and started our journey from Amritsar to Manali on 24th Dec 2020 at sharp 3 PM.

And The Journey Begins From Amritsar To Manali

I am so excited that finally, I am going to refresh myself at the most beautiful place I.e Manali India. People say in winters, Manali has its own Beauty, and if you are lucky enough you will see snowfall. Our tempo traveler guy is very friendly and stops the tempo at the best Dhaba for tea I.e “Malli Dhaba”. Here we have dinner and then started our journey. We dance, we sing, we laugh, we enjoyed a lot during travelling. Finally, we reached Bilaspur and stayed at a good hotel.

Travel lover

The next morning, I wake up early in the morning just to see the sunrise because I never have the experience to see the sunrise in the mountains. I feel like I am in heaven because the view is breathtaking. Breeze air, beautiful mountains, greenery, nature has its own beauty and you can’t express the feelings in words. After spending half an hour on the terrace and nature, it’s time to go Manali and say goodbye to Bilaspur.

Find Happiness In The Little Things

While doing travelling, I really missed three-person a lot. My father, mother, and of course the love of my life, who supported me in every situation. To divert my mind, I opened the tempo window and look outside just to see the beautiful nature. One thing I realized that travelling gives us happiness and peace and gives you lifetime memories.

So now the zig-zag road is started and I am surprised that the Manali road conditions are good and are totally safe if you drive properly. A lot of things running on my mind like what is special about Manali? While questioning to myself finally I reached Manali at 7 PM on 25th December 2020.

During Christmas time, all 5-star hotels are booked so our team search for a 3-star hotel in Manali. but again there are no rooms available in good hotels. We decided to stay in “Old Manali”. We all are shocked that old Manali hotels are also booked. After spending one hour finally we get rooms to refresh ourselves.  It’s a little bit adventurous but risky too. What if we don’t get any hotel in Manali?

That day we realized that bookings are important and for that, there are many travel booking portals like MakeMyTrip, Goibio, where you can book good hotels at a reasonable price.

Tip:

Make sure that you booked a hotel before started your journey

We all are hungry and decided to visit Manali Mall Road to fulfill our hungry tummy. The entire local market is full of people and everywhere a lot of rush. The time is running and I am damm hungry. Finally, we sit in a Dhaba at 10 PM where people are less.

Fun things to do in manali

Instantly we ordered food and waiting for our meal. Suddenly the police arrive and shut down the whole street market and restaurant. We forget that the lockdown rule is everywhere. The funny moment is that the restaurant owner shut down the gate and give us a sign to wait for our meal. After 10 minutes, he said to us, you all have to go because the police arrive again. He opened his back gate of his dhaba so that we can go outside.

What to eat in manali

I feel like that I am in the movie “Jab We Met” where Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor run from the hotel. This is really adventurous that we all are hungry and the market is shut down. No single shop is open, no person is standing on the road. The entire market is empty at 10 PM. I love to walk on an empty road but this time I just want food.

Manali Food

We get back to our hotel and ordered food. The food is limited and has limited food items. So this time we just ordered whatever they have. Our food finally arrived at 11:30 PM. And we all dig into the food. After having a meal, we get back to our rooms and started playing the truth and dare game. It was too much fun.

MANALI TRIP DAY 1

I woke up early in the morning and start getting ready to explore Mall Road and Hadimba Devi Temple. The Hadimba Devi temple is located just 2km from Manali’s main market. If you take an auto-rickshaw then it will take only 5-10 mins but if you decided to walk then it just takes 15-20 minutes to reach Hadimba temple. It is also known as the Dhungri Temple. The temple looks so beautiful and has its own beauty. It is dedicated to goddess Hadimba, the wife of Bhima from the Hindu epic “Mahabharat”.

Hadimba Temple

After seeing the Hadimba temple we decided to go for shopping in the old Manali market. When I first saw the market I feel like I am in the Mumbai street market. The main market of Manali is lined with various shops that have a wide variety of things that you will definitely fall in love with. From Kashmiri shawls to mufflers, woolen clothes to beautiful handmade handbags, gloves to socks, the Manali market has everything for every tourist. Must buy local handicrafts.

Shopping In Manali

After visiting Hadimba Devi temple and shopping, I feel damm hungry so I decided to try famous Manali street food. Many people are confused about what to eat in Manali? So I suggest them to try Manali street food which is really mouth-watering. Breeze air, outdoor sitting, delicious food, this is called heaven.

Finally, the shopping is finished and we get back to the hotel at 9 PM. When we reached the hotel, I was really surprised by seeing the bonfire. It is like “Sone Par Suhaga”. We all have decided to sit along with the bonfire and enjoy the music. The Manali weather is amazing in every season so we can’t say that which weather is best for Manali? Because it depends upon your choice. Some people like snow while some don’t.

MANALI TRIP DAY 2

If you are searching for fun things to do in Manali? Then must visit Solang valley and Rohtang. These two places located at just 15kms-20kms from Manali. If you are an adventurous person, then choose Solang valley as the best place for rafting, trekking, paragliding, zorbing, horse riding, and many more. It is also known as the land of adventure sports in Manali. This is really one of the best adventurous sport and the best part is here you can do a picnic also. Just choose the best picnic spot and order some delicious food and snacks and don’t forget to try Maggi. Because in mountains Maggi has its own taste. So try the most adventurous activities in Solang valley and make your trip more memorable “Kyuki Pagalpanti Bhi Jaruri Hai”

Maggi

On the other hand, if you simply want to admire the beauty of the town then Rohtang Pass is the best place. Here you will get snow everywhere no matter what the season is. People love to visit Rohtang just to see the snow. The view of the snow-peaked mountains and roads pass knocks the breath out of you. So cover yourself properly to enjoy the beauty of nature and play with your loved ones with snow.

Tip:

Must wear woolen clothes, gloves, a muffler, and of course snow boots to enjoy the stunning beauty of snow-peaked mountains.

DAY 3

This is my last day in Manali because we all have to go to Manikaran valley. It is located around 86kms from Manali. It will take a maximum of 2-3 hours to reach there and the best part is you can see a lot of beautiful things like Kullu, Vaishno temple shawl factory where people buy shawls at the cheapest price. On its way, you can also see Kasol valley which is known as “Mini Israel Of India”.

Kasol Valley

At last, we reach Manikaran around 4 PM. The manikaran valley has its own specialty because it is a half temple and half gurudwara. Sounds interesting? At first, even I am shocked to see a hot water river.

Manikaran Sahib

People came here to take bath in hot water and it is the belief that after taking bath in hot water, your pain will go forever. I really feel peace and happiness on my mind after takes the Darshan.

Manikaran

Do you know the Shiva temple is the main source of hot water in Manikaran?

Now it’s time to get back to the most beautiful place I.e Kasol valley. One of the best places in Himachal Pradesh. Here we booked the hotel to take some rest and order food. While having food we play music and enjoy our meals. This is our last day of the trip because we have to get back to Amritsar early in the morning. After having dinner it’s time to go to sleep.

Kasol

The next morning I was surprised because this is the first snowfall in Karol and the view is amazing. My excitement level is very high so I decided to go to the hotel terrace and capture some photographs of the Kasol Beauty.

Kasol Weather

I feel like I don’t want to go back to Amritsar. I wish I can stay here forever. But that’s not possible, because we all have to go back to our normal routine life.

So these are the places to visit in Manali and around Manali. If you have any questions regarding the Manali trip, feel free to comment.
